The chemistry rooms were in the right wing (identified as 7, 8, 9). Osann analyzed the residues after crude platinum had been dissolved in aqua regia, and he incorrectly claimed he had discovered three new metals, which he named pluranium, ruthenium, and polinium. These three discoveries were impure mixtures, but one was probably impure ruthenium. Unfortunately, there was not enough material for Osann to produce a satisfactory characterization.
